New brand RAKU-SIL®: RAMPF Giessharze offers from now on various silicones
The RAMPF Giessharze GmbH (casting resins), headquartered in Grafenberg, introduces a new product area. From now on, the specialist for reactive resins offers in addition to polyurethane and epoxy various silicones - on request with the appropriate dispensing technology from its affiliate RAMPF Dosiertechnik (dispensing technology). The high-quality single-and multi-component systems with the name RAKU-SIL® are suitable for protecting, bonding, sealing and coating.
RAMPF offers under the brand RAKU-SIL® a broad range of 1-, 2- or 3-component silicones.
The silicones of RAMPF Giessharze are especially suitable for sensitive applications like the casting of sensors.
The new product portfolio boasts a wide range of choices. The materials are available as a soft, gelform or self-healing system. Furthermore, ductile elastomers, hard silicone resins, liquid resins or stiff pastes are offered. Currently, the silicon division comprises of seven product lines:
- 2C gels and elastomers, room temperature
- 2C liquid foams, room temperature
- 2C thixotropic foams, room temperature
- 2C LSR Elastomers, heat curing
- 1C/2C Elastomers, moisture curing
- 1C Elastomers, heat curing
- Additives and other silicones
RAKU-SIL® silicones offer a broader range than other conventional plastics. For example, excellent low and high temperature resistance, good softness, very good chemical resistance, good radiation resistance and good resistance to aging characterize the systems. The properties remain constant over the entire temperature range – which other polymers don’t provide. Many of the silicones meet the requirements of renowned institutes, such as the Federal Drug Administration (FDA approved for food), Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL fire safety requirements) and the German Federal Health Office (KTW - water certification). The flexibility of the RAMPF silicones make their use in various applications possible: from the gluing of oven parts, through to the sealing of drinking water pumps, the coating of rolls, the casting of wind energy switches or the bonding of roof tiles. "Every DIY knows silicones. Now it is the task of RAMPF to convince customers and interested parties from the industry that RAKU-SIL® will be the leading silicone used amongst technicians. In the new application center, interested parties can see the products live ", says Franz-Josef Giesen. The silicone expert of RAMPF Giessharze has had experience within the topic for more than ten years. In his work Mr Giesen focuses on customized solutions. Each product is tailored to the needs of the user. Thus it is possible that special silicone formulations on the market can only be offered by RAMPF. "In all industries, the percentage of silicone in the polymers or plastics will continue to grow, such as it has in the automotive industry. Today every car needs about two pounds of silicone for sealing, coating, adhesion, or in electro casting resin. The possibilities are endless", explains the manager, Giesen.
In collaboration with their partner company, RAMPF Dosiertechnik, RAMPF Gies-sharze also offer tailor-made casting machines. This diversified product portfolio extends from simple handheld devices on efficient foaming equipment to vacuum casting machines. The sealing products of the new brand RAKU-SIL® will be presented at the technical symposium by RAMPF in Grafenberg on March 25th 2010. More than 100 participants from academia and related industries are expected to attend the one-day symposium.
